A street intervention
Funded by Citi Artist Corp. I installed, with the help of passersby, 466 D/Ps at the corner of Delancey and Suffolk on September 30, 2021. The size of the work was 30x13ft, with each piece (6x8in) being valued at $150. The D/Ps were put on top of a Burger King’s graffiti wall, generating a layered relationship with the previously intervened wall. The wall is also part an old historic building of the Lower East Side.I’m proud of this project because it demonstrated how art can be understood as currency, and also because it involved community members, making it a sort of multitudinous piece of street art.
